What Dreams May Come

I think Autumn is my favourite time of year mostly because of the brilliance of the autumn foliage. I think it’s also because we’re into the home stretch of the calendar year. If you know me at all, you would know that my favourite holiday is New Year’s. With new year’s, come new thoughts, beginnings, hopes and dreams.

My son recently completed his first year and It’s only fitting that I wonder what the future holds and what dreams may come. I am loving this time in his life so much. As much as I enjoyed my “lap baby” and all the milestones in his first year, I am thoroughly enjoying teaching him and showing him new things every day and getting to see the world through his eyes.

The last little while we’ve been going out to play and discover. I’ve been lucky enough to be there when he went down the slide for the first time and then by himself, when he found his first snail, touched his first tree and played in his first pile of leaves. I was also lucky enough to catch it all with my camera.

I’ve been wanting to capture the view of my “backyard” as the sun sets, the glow it casts and the fullness of the trees before the leaves fall. Well, I finally caught my moment. When I opened this first photo on my screen I immediately thought of the movie What Dreams May Come.

Country drives are one of our family’s favourite things to do at this time of year. If you haven’t been out to see the leaves changing, you still have some time, but you don’t have to go that far the local park or even your backyard should do. So with that said comes the blogs 1st contest.
