AR in the Community & Causes:

    • The Heart of a Woman Project (THOAW) – A women’s mobile photography initiative in South Africa founded by Toronto based professional photographer, Andrea Rees. THOAW partners with non profit organizations to empower women through mobile photography. Mission: To educate women impacted by poverty in photography, mobile technology and social media to empower, have a voice and create sustainable income and small business through the sales of their photographic art products.
    • eKhaya eKasi – an Art & Education Centre in Khayelitsha, South Africa, a township about 30 minutes from the Cape Town CBD. It is home to The heART of a Woman program and is as a multi-purpose community centre in a residential area of Makhaza. It is run and staffed by women living in the townships and serves over 400 local residents. eKhaya eKasi provides activities, programs and working space for a community of 400+ residents as well as tourism opportunities to visitors to Cape Town and Khayelitsha. 
  • Silent Auctions – We donate portrait gift certificates to several Charity organizations and schools annually. To find out how you can have an Andrea Rees Photography gift certificate for your cause or school, please contact us at 416.907.9827.
  • Displays – Andrea Rees Photography donates several portraits to local businesses in the Peel and Halton region for decorating and cross marketing purposes. If you are interested in having us decorate your location, please contact us.
